On my way home today I passed by the local bathing place called Ingestrand. I saw some very nice reflections on the wet ice on the lake. So I quickly drove home and fetched my camera.

Winter
Winter came eventually. The lake froze mid January this year. I haven’t had much time for photography projects lately. Mostly, the cameras have been used for taking family photos. That was the main reason for investing in a new camera system.

My girlfriend and I went out to take some maternity photos. We wanted to catch some snow while it lasted. I had a vision of frosty reed at the lake. Well, the reed weren’t all that frosty but the images turned out pretty OK still. In these images I was using a single off camera flash with a MagSphere.

This is a view over Arvika at the far end of an icy Kyrkviken. It’s an HDR image (obviously) of five exposures. I didn’t get the natural look I like but the light wasn’t ideal this time.

A couple of weeks ago I took some shots of Kyrkviken while taking a walk. It’s a bit soft and the lighting wasn’t the best but I kinda like it still. It’s an HDR image of three exposures.

Cold and Pretty
I thought I could get some pretty winter shots today. The first place I came to think of (that was nearby) was our local camping site, Ingestrand. The sun was already setting and I saw that there were some pretty colors in the sky. But the fog that rapidly came rolling in surprised me.
